Dear Brian, 

For the Ordination  I have  ASP down as an estimate ( based on last year)
S-6  A-2 T-2 B-0: As you  have a  Deacon this year  maybe  you will do
better than that?

 

Attached are  the provisional copies of the anthems- I  have asked Simon
Johnson to confirm these will be the editions we use.

 

For July the canticles Sumsion in A and the anthem:  Harwood  O how glorious
are both in copyright and not  in the public domain.

 

Sumsion in A  was published by the RSCM  and also appeared  in RSCM Choir
Book ten  published in 1959.

 

 O how glorious  Harwood is published  in the Eboracum series by Banks.

 

Please may I ask you to conduct an experiment and put up two requests on
londonchurchesmusicforum at lists.coin.org.uk

to borrow sets of these items for June and July 

 

This is just the kind of thing the online forum is intended to be used for
and you may find there is a church  who  offer to lend them. 

 

It would be a genuine request for help  and have the  great advantage of an
email not coming from me; it would help us identify  sets of copies to
borrow  for July.

Ill be able to give you a more precise schedule of names from All Saints'
nearer the time - I would expect a goodly contingent as our new Deacon is
being "done" that day.

 

I want to start doing some work with our people once next wekend's event is
behind us. I have got copies of the music for the ordination either from our
library or from the internet but cannot find the July items - are they
available in the public domaine? You mentioned another source in addition to
CPDL - could you remind me please.

Thank you for your various replies to the invitations for singers for this
servic e.

 

 I have assembled the list of singers for this event on 27th June 2009 so if
you receive this email then you and other participants that you nominated
are on the list. 

 

The overall numbers are similar to last year; circa 70+/- 5 singers among
which there are a goodly number of first-timers as well as many "regulars".

 

We can still include more singers, especially in the A,T,B parts so if you
have other friends  who sing  please  let me know if they would like to
participat e.

Please can we stop sending messages to everyone when a request to delete is being made.  It wastes time downloading and is extremely annoying, even to the extent that I am seriously considering asking to be taken of the list.

Dear Tim, and everyone else,

Thank you for this posting to the list, which rightly reminds everyone  
of how simple it is to unsubscribe.

If, however, you want to do it more simply, then just send me a polite  
email requesting that I remove you, and I will do it as soon as I am  
at my computer.  But please bear in mind that a personal request for  
unsubscription does not happen immediately!  An automated one, using  
the interface, does, of course take immediate effect.

The intention of the list is simply to facilitate inter-musical  
communication around the Diocese, and Mervyn and I are running it in  
our spare time under the authority of the Archdeacon of Hampstead.  It  
is hoped - and experience has shown - that the number of emails to the  
list, is about one a week (notwithstanding emails that have been  
wrongly sent to everyone instead of either to me or Mervyn, or an  
individual).  Replies sent to emails posted to the list are directed  
only to the sender, not to the list itself, so what has been happening  
has been deliberate on the part of those doing it.  This raises the  
temperature and can cause bad feeling, and is most unfortunate.

In view of these mishaps, I have once again placed the list on  
emergency moderation, which means no can can post until an email has  
been checked and passed by a human being.  It was our hope that this  
could be an unmoderated list, but we are not so sure now.

For interest, there are currently 246 members of this list - a very  
grand total indeed.  When the list was started there were about 290,  
so about 50 have left.
