There will be several churches at St Paul's rehearsing that afternoon, many of whom may have been interested in what you can offer. The London Area have recently set up a music and worship coordinator's group (I am the representatative for the Kensington Area) and so if we get together, perhaps in future we can avoid these clashes. My church offers an eclectic range of music, so I am sure it would have been of interest to me Best wishes Caroline Pugh On 3/30/09, Richard Simpkin wrote: > > The London Music Ministry Conference (9th May) is for musicians and > pastors/ministers - it has been tailored for classical and modern > musicians - we recognise and will cater for all tastes recognising that the > church is very eclectic. > It is also for young and old - whether you help with or lead music at your > youth group, Christian group, church, home group. > > We'd love to serve you, your church and your musicians, whatever their > needs may be. The London Church Music Forum (LCMF) Mailing list is a service provided for Clergy, Musicians and Singers in the Diocese of London to enable them to readily ask questions, seek advice about such matters as running a choir/ music group, liturgy & worship, choice of music or to request help, e.g. with deputies or extra singers/ instrumentalists for a special service. It may also be used to publicise musical events in London's Churches. You may attach files (PDF format preferred) or include an URL website address in the body of your mail. Attached files that are executables ( .exe) are forbidden and other attachments should be limited to less than 10Mb. Please note that all correspondence within the forum is visible to all participants so all dialogue should be conducted in a careful, thoughtful and polite manner. If you wish to pursue a private dialogue, for example in connection with requests for deputies please request that all replies go to your personal email and state it in the body of the mail. i.e. Individual comments or replies should be directed to specific emails addresses. I am most grateful to Gordon Giles who has set this facility up and agreed to be the Moderator and List Administrator. Secondly I am concerned?about the lack of co-ordination of 'church music' related events all taking place on the same date in London - ie yours, one in Southwark RSCM Area and the biennial London RSCM Choir's Festival taking place in St Paul's Cathedral and?an organ day.?? The St Pauls event with which I am particularly concerned has been booked for nearly 2 years to be able to get into the cathedral diary at all and already has about 400 singers booked into it from 40 different choirs in the London Area, with inevitably some people who would also be interested in your event! Thirdly - like Vyan Gresty I am rather alarmed at the bombardment of emails I have received in the last few hours and think there needs to be some sort of filtering system possible.
